Rep. Dick Muri sponsors Covenant High School student as House page

Covenant High School, Savannah Guenzi, traveled to Olympia last week to page for the Washington State House of Representatives. Savanna was sponsored by Rep. Dick Muri, R-Steilacoom.
Savannah observed the Legislature in action and was responsible for delivering messages and documents to state lawmakers in their offices, committee meetings, and the House chamber. Savannah says she enjoyed her time at the Legislature and would recommend this experience to her fellow classmates.
“It's good for students to come to Olympia and learn about state government,” said Muri. “The more involved students are now, the more likely they will remain politically engaged adults. Savannah was a big help to our office. I'd like to thank her for coming to Olympia to work as a page.”
Savannah is the daughter of Kevin and Tammy Guenzi. When not in school, she likes painting and playing volleyball. During her week in Olympia, Savannah attended the Legislative Page School participating in mock committee meetings and learning about the inner-workings of state government.
Pages earn $35 per day while serving as a page. To become a page, applicants must have a legislative sponsor, be between the ages of 14 to 16, and obtain written permission from their parents and school.
